Vision &
Concept

The powerful presence of the house evokes an archaic rock formation—reinforced by rough, washed concrete that deepens in tone over time, climbing vegetation enveloping the façades, and a restrained number of square wall openings. Designed for a family of four, the house is organised across three levels. Toward the street, the building presents itself with deliberate restraint, while on the valley side the entire volume unfolds in a terraced sequence, opening to the landscape.

The lightness of strength

Uniqueness is reflected in the materials: carbon and fibreglass. They enable exceptional performance without compromising a timeless, minimalist design. At Casa Romeo, Venuro’s frameless sliding windows lend the powerful rock an unexpected composition of strength and lightness.

A house that speaks in light

The generous glass surfaces of Venuro 3 form a harmonious counterpart to the solid walls of the courtyards. These skilfully reflect daylight into the interior, ensuring that despite the building’s shielded exterior presence, a bright and inviting atmosphere is created within.

The delicate 16 mm carbon middle profile recedes gracefully, allowing a subtle interplay of light and space to unfold.

Powerful and timeless presence

The architectural expression is defined by reduction and permanence. The building exudes a calm, powerful, and restrained presence. Casa Romeo embraces the concept of seamless transition—creating a home that offers shelter without severing ties to its surroundings, a place where the changing moods of time and light are vividly experienced.

Materiality and the passage of time are integral to the design. Concrete, vegetation, and minimal openings allow the building to grow into the landscape, becoming one with its place.

A distinctive highlight is the living and dining area with an open kitchen, which, in dialogue with the partially planted courtyards on the mountain and valley sides, functions almost as an outdoor space itself — immersing the inhabitants in the ever-changing moods of time and light with remarkable intensity.
